The Firm Behind the Mixer
Concrete is a trust purchase — once it's poured, it's poured. Here's how we've set the business up so you can check our claims before a single drum turns.
Built Around One Simple Deal
Birmingham Ready Mix Concrete is exactly what the name says: a Birmingham-based volumetric concrete supplier. Every truck is a mobile batching plant: raw stone, sand, cement and water travel separately and become concrete at your kerb, metered as it pours. That's the deal in one sentence — you pay for the concrete that goes in the ground, not the load a plant decided to send.
Around that we've built the things this industry is strangely reluctant to offer. Our prices are published, per cubic metre, on the pages themselves — from £99/m³ +VAT. Our advice runs the other way from the invoice: if a C20 does your job, we won't sell you a C35, and our grades guide shows the working. Every load leaves a batch ticket from the truck's calibrated metering — mix, consistence, volume, time — and our mixes are designed to the strength and durability requirements of BS 8500. Where a specification strictly requires third-party-certified designated concrete, we'll say so plainly and point you right.
And because Birmingham is a city of canals, we're particular about the unglamorous bit: washout. Concrete washwater is highly alkaline — pH 11 to 13 — and it never goes down your drain or towards a watercourse. We contain ours and take it away. You don't build a lined box; you don't inherit a problem.

What Ordering From Us Looks Like
Priced on the first call
Postcode, job, rough size — you'll have a price the same call. Dimensions welcome; the calculator or our batcher does the maths.
Advice you can check
Every recommendation we make is published in our guides with sources named — grades, curing, access, the lot. Check our working.
Access planned, not discovered
Truck needs ~3m width and firm ground; chutes reach ~5m; beyond that we plan barrows or a pump before the day — not during it.
No water games
We never "loosen it up" with a hose on site — unauthorised water wrecks a mix's performance. Workability is set properly at the point of batching instead.
All seasons
Warmed-water batching and accelerators in winter, retarders and early slots in summer — with the curing advice to match, in writing.
Lower-carbon on request
GGBS cement-replacement mixes — a third of UK ready-mix already uses them — with the honest note about slower early strength in cold weather.
Birmingham First, West Midlands Wide
We pour across every Birmingham postcode from B1 to B48, the Black Country — West Bromwich, Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Halesowen, Stourbridge — and up the A38 corridor to Tamworth and Lichfield.
